Prehistoric Globes
Client: Dorling Kindersley
These globes are impressions of how the Earth might have appeared during the Carboniferous, Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Contemporary terrain data and satellite images have been reworked and incorporated in to these models to create an Earth-like appearance.
These graphics were produced for a children's reference book relating to the prehistoric world.
Data from the following source was used in the compilation of these globes: Blue Marble: Next Generation: NASA's Earth Observatory.
Another illustration from the same series. An impression of the Earth at the time of the last ice age (the last glacial maximum).
